My Creative Values

Anti-kyriarchy
As an artist and a person, I actively and comprehensively oppose structural and interpersonal oppression in all of its insidious forms (racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, fatphobia, ableism, colorism, etc). Artistry and creativity blossoms when those called to foster it are regarded with dignity, compassion, and care. Achieving this involves dismantling my own biases, reckoning with my structurally unearned advantages, and unapologetically demanding the creation of theatrical spaces that the future requires and that the past (and present) lack.

Collaboration
Every member of the theatrical or cinematic production is of equal importance to ensuring a generative artistic process and to the creation of a product everyone involved would be proud of. In the spirit of this, I believe in creating theatrical spaces that are nonhierarchical and where everyone's labor and artistry is respected equally.

Communication and Mutuality

I affirm and try to practice bidirectional communication where and whenever possible. Not only does this undergird any consent-based and trauma-informed space, but it also removes any strictures on what is possible in artistic spaces.
